Dear Lord:
http://onlineministries.creighton.edu/CollaborativeMinistry/guide1.html asks us to go back through the photo album of our life.  There's a memory of a Sunday School trip to this pond:

Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C

Wisdom, Chapter 9:

For the corruptible body burdens the soul
and the earthen shelter weighs down the mind that has many concerns.
And scarce do we guess the things on earth,
and what is within our grasp we find with difficulty;
but when things are in heaven, who can search them out?

To relieve the weight of this earthen shelter, many have tried alcohol, drugs - mind manipulation of many sorts.  Others are so overwhelmed that they shed that shelter before its expiration date.  But one gift I've had is to be with those whose shelter is tattered, broken, and the essential shines through.  I've also been with some whose expiration date is far nearer than they'd like.  In both cases, there are moments when much falls into our grasp.  If only I could remain in those moments.
